Supported Independent Living (SIL)

At Lakeshore Healthcare, we specialize in NDIS Disability Services, offering Supported Independent Living (SIL) to help you live as independently as possible. SIL is an NDIS-funded service where we provide support and supervision for your daily activities. This service is typically offered in shared living arrangements.

For many individuals with disabilities or mental illnesses, living alone or with family may not be feasible. Shared or group accommodation provides essential day-to-day support in a safe and suitable environment. We carefully match housemates based on compatibility and shared interests, ensuring a harmonious living arrangement. Our accommodations typically house two to seven individuals, each with their own private room.

Our Services Include:

  • Budget Management: Assistance with financial planning and budgeting to build financial independence.
  • Daily Household Tasks: Help with cooking, cleaning, and laundry for a clean, healthy living space.
  • Public Transport Navigation: Support with using public transportation for social visits and daily commutes.
  • Personal Care: Assistance with hygiene tasks like showering and dressing.
  • Grocery Shopping: Help with shopping to ensure access to nutritious meals.
  • Daily Skills Training: Practical skills training to foster independence and confidence.

Three Levels of Support:

  • Lower Needs: Supervision of living arrangements, typically not on a 24/7 basis.
  • Standard Needs: 24/7 assistance or supervision with most daily tasks.
  • Higher Needs: Comprehensive support for managing challenging behaviours, including positive behaviour strategies and 24/7 active support.

At Lakeshore Healthcare, we are committed to empowering you with the tools and support you need to live independently and confidently. Contact us today to explore how we can help you achieve your goals!
